Archive reorganization

Fri, 7 Feb 2003

Spurred by Burningbird, poeticgeek.net, and Jonathon Delacour, I've decided to change my archive format to one which includes more metadata. Unfortunately this means that trackbacks I sent before this changeover will lead to old URLs, but hopefully that won't matter very much since this blog is pretty new, and I haven't sown all that many [...]

I am information geek

Fri, 7 Feb 2003

It’s sad that I can’t read a simple blog entry without thinking about how the fact that an old book smells acrid means that it is in fact acidic and going brittle and should probably be deacidified pronto before it disintegrates, as well as the fact that you can indeed spill coffee on a digital [...]

I am braille-geek, hear me wibble

Fri, 7 Feb 2003

I'm still learning braille. It's kind of weird, because it took 2-3 weeks to learn the alphabet and punctuation, but 4 months later we're still learning contractions! Blogs, mass media, and the nature of rational discussion

Fri, 7 Feb 2003

One of the really cool things about keeping a weblog is something that I've only recently gotten into. This really cool thing is its facilitation of public discourse, largely through the means of comments and TrackBack. Somebody writes an article on a blog about what s/he thinks; I write an article on my blog, referencing [...]

Small World

Fri, 7 Feb 2003

A couple of days ago Kevin wrote a blog entry linking to someone else's blog entry about a MHC professor, and through the miracle of TrackBack, she found my blog too. Apparently it's my fault that she wasted time on online quizzes, but that's okay because it's her fault that I wasted time on a couple [...]

What is your inner color?

Fri, 7 Feb 2003

You are blue. You are somewhat innocent, in the fact that your genius only extends to the physical world. You have a false sense of contentness. You are usually the quiet one, the genius. Everyone can count on you to help when they have problems, but you only fall short of being able to [...]

What’s your inner European?

Spaghetti alla carbonara

Fri, 7 Feb 2003

I have had so much food around the house lately that last weekend I didn't even go grocery shopping. That was nice in that I didn't have to spend the time or trouble getting to the grocery store and back. On the other hand, I had slightly less variety to eat this week, so yesterday [...]
